Reduce Die Trials

A major cause of non-productive press time is the often-unnecessary trials of replacement dies. For a new profile, some minor correction maybe required. With Exco dies however, because of CNC machining and rigorous recording of all necessary dimensions, the original die has been benchmarked in detail.

Once a satisfactory profile has been achieved, the client reports to EXCO any adjustments that have been made. EXCO can then duplicate the corrected die and no further trials or wasted billets should be required for replacement dies.

This combination of high-tech manufacturing, benchmarked dies and the close partnership which bonds EXCO to its clients, results in improved profit for the extruder.

Increase Press Speed

Increased productivity depends on press speed aas well as reduced downtime. Press speed is limited by the friction of alloys passing over the bearing surfaces of the die.

EXCO pioneered the design of dies, which operate at low billet temperatures. This allows higher press speeds to be achieved, before critical temperatures are approached.
